On September 7, students across EduNations schools began returning for the 2026–2027 school year.
After weeks of preparation, it was a joy to see students signing in, reconnecting with classmates and teachers, and filling the classrooms again. A new school year is officially underway!
Long before the first students arrived, our teachers and staff were busy preparing for their return.
Part of that preparation included making sure students had the basic things they would need for school. Books, notebooks, pens, and other school supplies were distributed to students as they returned.
They also received their school uniforms, which were sewn by hand in Sierra Leone before being distributed to students.

Seeing students holding their uniforms and new supplies is always a special part of the beginning of the school year. These are practical things, but they play a huge role in making sure students are prepared focus on learning.
We are so grateful for the sponsors and donors who help provide these resources for our students throughout the year.
For many of our Senior Secondary students, returning to school also means a long journey back to our Boarding School in Rokassa.
Students traveling from Fintonia first travel across the country by bus. They then cross the Kaba River by boat before continuing on to Rokassa.
After the long trip, students arrived safely and began settling back into their dorms, reconnecting with classmates, and preparing for another year of learning.
The boarding school provides our students with regular meals, friendships and community, and opportunities for discipleship alongside their education.
We are thankful to have our students safely back, and we ask you to join us in praying for them as they settle back into their dorms.
One of the students who has been greatly impacted by the boarding program is Musu Foray Kamara, a Senior Secondary student in Rokassa.
Musu joined EduNations when she entered Junior Secondary School. Before then, she faced a long walk to school each day, and having enough food for lunch was often difficult.
Today, Musu lives at the EduNations Boarding School and receives regular meals, lives alongside a community of other students, and has opportunities to grow in her faith.
For Musu, one of the biggest changes she's experienced since joining EduNations is not having to spend several hours walking to school each day.
“I don't have to walk long distances to get to school, and I have a life in boarding school surrounded by young people like me who want to learn and be educated.”
Musu is studying in the Commercial Department, where Financial Accounting is her favorite subject. She hopes to become an accountant and work in a bank one day.
Musu is currently available for sponsorship. Sponsoring Musu is an opportunity to come alongside her as she continues her education at EduNations.

This year, 18 students at EduNations Junior Secondary School in Rokassa received bicycles to help them travel to school from distant communities.
The bicycles were distributed with students, parents, teachers, and staff present, and our team shared how grateful the students and their families were to receive them.
For these students, a bicycle can make the daily trip to school much more manageable.
Distance is one of the practical barriers students face in accessing education, and there isn't one solution that works for every student. For some Senior Secondary students, living at the boarding school allows them to attend school far from their home communities. For others, a bicycle can make getting to a nearby EduNations school easier each day.
We're grateful to the donors who provided these 18 bicycles and helped make the trip to school a little easier for these students.

The beginning of a school year involves a lot of moving pieces. Teachers prepare their classrooms, uniforms are sewn, supplies are distributed, students travel from their home communities, and boarding students settle back into their dorms.
We're grateful for everyone who has helped make the start of another school year possible, from our teachers and staff in Sierra Leone to the sponsors, donors, churches, and prayer partners who support this work from around the world.
As the 2026–2027 school year continues, please continue to pray for our students and teachers. We look forward to sharing more of what this year holds.
As students return to school, there are still students waiting to be connected with sponsors.
Sponsorship helps support the comprehensive education students receive through EduNations while giving sponsors the opportunity to know a student by name, pray for them, exchange letters, and follow their progress through the years.
Will you prayerfully consider sponsoring a student this school year?
