For Salifu Kamara, continuing his education once came with significant challenges. Today, as a student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa, some of those burdens have been lifted, giving him greater opportunity to focus on his education and future.
Salifu is from Fintonia Town and is the eldest son in a family of farmers. Before coming to EduNations, his family struggled to afford school fees, basic learning materials, and meals during the school day. Through EduNations and the generosity of supporters, Salifu now has access to three meals each day—something he says has made a significant difference in his life at school.
“The feeding program has had a massive impact on my life here in Rokassa. Having reliable access to daily meals has removed a huge burden from my shoulders”
For Salifu, reliable meals mean one less challenge standing between him and the opportunity to continue his education. Yet when Salifu reflects on how his life has changed, the transformation he considers greatest is not academic or physical, but spiritual. Salifu was raised in a Muslim family. During his time at EduNations, he says he made the decision to embrace Christianity.
In his own words:
“I was born and raised in a Muslim family, but since coming here, I have embraced the Christian faith and I’m now a devoted Christian.”
Salifu’s story reflects EduNations’ commitment to educating the whole child—intellectually, physically, psychosocially, and spiritually. Alongside access to education and nutritious meals, students have opportunities to learn about the hope found in Jesus Christ.
As Salifu continues his education, he recognizes the supporters whose generosity has helped make that opportunity possible.
His message to them is simple:
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to our donors for all their incredible efforts. Thank you for making it possible for me to continue my education and build a brighter future.”
For Salifu, that generosity is helping provide nourishment, education, and the opportunity to keep moving toward a brighter future.
