For the past ten years, Nabieu Kamara has faithfully served as a teacher at EduNations, bringing education and hope to students in Fintonia, Sierra Leone. But his dedication to teaching began even earlier—he has taught in Fintonia for a total of fifteen years, becoming a trusted and respected figure in the community.

Nabieu’s roots run deep in this land. He is the son of Osman Kamara, who served as the chiefdom speaker, and Kadiatu Kamara, a hardworking farmer. Both of his parents are of the Susu tribe and followers of Islam. Though Nabieu lost his father in June of 2023, his mother is still living, and her strength continues to inspire him.

Family is the heart of Nabieu’s life. He is married to Mamadama Kamara, and together they have been blessed with four children—three girls and one boy. Tragically, they lost one of their daughters in July 2024, a loss that continues to weigh heavily on their hearts. Today, his remaining three children live with him in Fintonia, sharing in both the challenges and joys of their daily life.

When asked about his experience with EduNations, Nabieu speaks with heartfelt gratitude. “I feel valued and appreciated by EduNations,” he says. “It is one of the few organizations in Sierra Leone that truly prioritizes the well-being of its staff. I can boldly say, EduNations is the best in Sierra Leone.”

His role at EduNations means more than just a paycheck. “My employment is very important in my life,” he explains. “Because I am employed, I can care for my family, and most importantly, I have come to know the good news of Jesus Christ, which has changed my life completely.” That transformation has led Nabieu to become a church planter in a nearby village, sharing the same hope that he found through EduNations.

Inside the classroom, Nabieu finds joy in seeing his students actively engage with their lessons. One highlight of this year has been the teacher training he received from EduNations. “It helped me acquire new teaching methodologies,” he says. “Now, my students understand the material more easily, and I can teach them more effectively.”

Nabieu knows that being sponsored would be a great blessing. “It would help ensure my monthly salary, which allows me to care for my family as the breadwinner,” he says.

To those who support EduNations and its teachers, Nabieu offers his heartfelt prayers and thanks:
“My prayers are always with you. May the good Lord continue to open doors of provision for you in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen. God bless you.”
