Hygiene Education Project: Promoting Lifelong Healthy Habits
EduNations’ Hygiene Education Project equips students in rural Sierra Leone with the knowledge and practices needed to live healthier lives and prevent disease. Through engaging, age-appropriate lessons, students learn the importance of personal cleanliness, proper handwashing techniques, and everyday hygiene routines that help reduce the spread of illness in their schools and communities.
A key component of this project is the formation of Hand-Washing Clubs, where students take active leadership roles in promoting hygiene among their peers. These clubs encourage consistent handwashing before meals and after using the restroom, while also organizing hygiene awareness activities and modeling best practices throughout the school day.
By fostering peer-to-peer learning and building healthy habits from a young age, the Hygiene Education Project plays a vital role in improving student well-being, reducing absenteeism, and laying the groundwork for a healthier future for entire communities.
